The Wideye SAFARI™ is a roof-mounted, vehicular BGAN terminal designed for staying connected when you’re on-the-move. It provides simultaneous voice, sms and data applications in all weather conditions, with data speeds of up to 448 Kbps send and 464 Kbps receive.
Compact and Tough
The SAFARI™’s compact design makes it one of the smallest vehicular BGAN terminals available. The antenna has a diameter of just 252 mm (9.9 inches) and weighs 1.9 kg (4.2 lbs.). Easily mounted to just about any vehicle roof using the built-in magnetic mounts, the SAFARI™ antenna can withstand the harshest conditions, including extreme heat and cold, dirt, dust and wet-weather. The antenna has an ingress rating IP56, which means it can resist particles and dust, as well as powerful jets of water from every direction. Able to operate in temperatures ranging from -25° to +55° C, (-13° to +131° F), the SAFARI™ can keep you connected wherever you go, whether it’s the arctic, the desert or the tropical jungle.
A Versatile Communications Hub
The three-component system includes an antenna unit, a transceiver unit and a handset that can all fit inside your luggage for easy transport, weighing a combined total of just over 5.4 kg (11.9 lbs.). Just connect the transceiver to the antenna unit with the cable provided, set it on the roof of you rvehicle with the built-in magnetic mounts, plug-in to your vehicle’s power source, and you are ready to go. With your direct, mobile, on-the-move link to the INMARSAT system of communication satellites, you have access to the full range of BGAN capabilities. You can make voice calls, use data applications and send and receive sms texts all at the same time, without needing to stop. The SAFARI™’s mobile tracking antenna will keep you connected, and enable you to get your work done while you are in-transit. Built to be versatile, with two Ethernet ports (RJ-45), two standard phone ports (RJ-11), and WiFi, the SAFARI™ is a durable, on-the-move communications hub. With the SAFARI™’s secure WiFi connections, you can access the built-in web console with any WiFi enabled device, including your iPhone, iPad, laptop, BlackBerry or PDA.
